Anime Girls as Car Figureheads
Anime Girls on a dudes car provide the same function as a mermaid on the bow of a ship.
A black Hyundai car is decorated with a large anime-girl illustration across its hood, shown beside a traditional mermaid figurehead mounted on a ship. The joke compares anime car decals to a ship’s figurehead, suggesting both serve as flashy decorative mascots at the front of a vehicle. It is used as an ironic reaction to heavily decorated anime cars and enthusiast culture.
