EN: A Japanese Initial D ARCADE STAGE 8 arcade cabinet is booting with the Windows XP startup screen. The joke comes from the contrast between a modern-looking arcade machine and its visibly outdated operating system, reinforced by the cabinet’s message “The dream never ends.” It is used as a reaction to nostalgic arcades, old technology, or machines that somehow still work.
