YouTube Server-Side Ad Injection
YouTube is currently experimenting with server-side ad injection. This means that the ad is being added directly into the video stream. This breaks sponsorblock since now all timestamps are offset by the ad times.
A screenshot explains that YouTube is testing server-side advertisements inserted directly into video streams. The joke is that these inserted ads shift timestamps and break SponsorBlock, a tool designed to skip sponsored segments, making the platform’s experiment inconvenient for ad-skipping users.
