Neuralink Compression Challenge
I have an update for those trying out Neuralink's compression challenge. I put some effort into calculating the legit theoretical max compression possible and.... tada it's 3.439 /4268 85045 i got 4. This converts back losslessly? not only does it convert back losslessly? it also has the noise removed
A screenshot of a humorous social-media thread about compressing Neuralink motor-cortex data. One person calculates a theoretical compression ratio, another claims an even better result, and the punchline is that the “compression” also removes the noise, implying the data was altered rather than perfectly preserved. It is used as a reaction to suspiciously impressive compression claims or solutions that quietly discard information.
