When the Internet Was a Place

sorry for being nostalgia baited but it was kind of nice where the internet was a single, solitary, unmoving place instead of a terror that extends to everywhere. you went to this specific spot to go to the internet, when you left the spot, you left the internet. it was a place There was a time when we respected the computer

A nostalgic post contrasts the old internet, accessed from a single desktop computer in one fixed place, with the modern internet that follows people everywhere. The joke is that the bulky computer setup is treated almost like a respected gateway to another world, reflecting nostalgia for a slower and more bounded online life.
