Old Photos on a Sold iPad

Ooof it doesn't sound like it's an icloud problem. If what this reddit user is saying is true then this is so much worse! My OLD photos appeared on an iPad I sold!!! Discussion I wiped the iPad using official Apple guides before selling. I never logged into that iPad with my Apple ID after erasing the iPad. I sold my iPad to a friend in September 2023, they called me today and said my old pictures appeared in their Photos app... HUGE PRIVACY VIOLATION. I see other reports of this. How many people will get other people's photos on the devices they bought from other people?

A social media post shares a Reddit report claiming that old photos appeared in the Photos app of an iPad after it was sold and erased. The joke is an alarmed reaction to a potentially serious privacy failure, made worse because the seller followed Apple's wiping instructions and still believes the photos remained accessible. It is used as a reaction to disturbing tech glitches, data leaks, or privacy violations.
