Text on the meme
Just a reminder “RUSSIA” IS A 404 COUNTRY. Two-headed eagle (Jani Bei Khan) Golden Horde Dinar 108 MUSCOVY STOLE THE NAME "RUS" IN 1721. 1. The (Kiovan) Rus was the first East Slavic state, predating Muscovy by centuries. It originated in Kyiv populated by Rus. 2. Moscow (meaning "dirty water" in Mokshan) was a swamp before rising to power as vassal tax collectors (baskaks) for the Mongol Golden Horde, oppressing the Slavs. 3. Tsar Peter I rebranded the Muscovites as "Russians" and mockingly labeled the original Rus-Ruthenians – today’s Ukrainians – as "Malorossy" ("Little Russians") and made up an artificial “Russian” language, imposed in empire. 4. Kyiv was liberated from the Horde in 1362 by Lithuanians and Ruthenians (Ukrainians) at the Battle of Blue Waters while Moscow remained under the Horde for another 100 years. 5. Ukrainians (Ruthenians) is the true successor of Kievan Rus by ethnicity, language, and culture. 6. Muscovy, "Russian Federation" is the successor of the tax collectors for the Mongol-Tatar Horde, and behaves as such.
What it means

A screenshot of a social-media post shows a yellow infographic titled “RUSSIA” IS A 404 COUNTRY, claiming that Muscovy took the name “Rus” in 1721 and presenting a strongly anti-Russian historical interpretation. The meme is used sarcastically as a political reaction to deny Russia’s claimed historical continuity with Kievan Rus and to mock Russian imperial narratives.
