Windows 11 Ads in Start Menu

Text on the meme

windows 11 is putting ads in the start menu no, not like the preinstalled apps that windows 10 and 11 already have. literally just, advertisements may i remind you that the expected, official way to obtain a legitimate official windows license is via an oem or paying microsoft $140 directly i know you can buy shady keys online or pirate it trivially, but the EXPECTED METHOD of activating windows is either you or the oem pay microsoft for a license despite that, ads. wow this is just cable tv!

What it means

A social media post complains that Windows 11 may show ordinary advertisements in the Start menu, beyond its preinstalled apps. The joke is that users already pay Microsoft or an OEM for a legitimate Windows license, yet the operating system still resembles ad-supported cable television.
