Using the Computer Then and Now

USING THE COMPUTER THEN: neopets LiveJournal USING THE COMPUTER NOW: Slack Zoom

What it means

A Wojak-style collage contrasts happily using an old desktop computer for Neopets and LiveJournal with modern computer use, represented by Slack, Zoom, a flood of email notifications, and endless updates. The image of Ryan Gosling becoming increasingly devastated turns the nostalgia joke into a reaction about how online life changed from playful internet browsing to exhausting digital work. Home — Resonance plays throughout, adding dreamy synthwave melancholy that makes the gradual emotional breakdown feel dramatically funny.
