IRC User in 2051
OUR TEAM STAYS IN TOUCH OVER IRC. OUR TEAM MAINLY USES SKYPE, BUT SOME OF US PREFER TO STICK TO IRC. WE'VE GOT ALMOST EVERYONE ON SLACK, BUT THREE PEOPLE REFUSE TO QUIT IRC AND CONNECT VIA GATEWAY. ALL CONSCIOUSNESSES HAVE MERGED WITH THE GALACTIC SINGULARITY, EXCEPT FOR ONE GUY WHO INSISTS ON JOINING THROUGH HIS IRC CLIENT. I JUST HAVE IT SET UP THE WAY I WANT, OKAY?! *SIGH*
A four-panel stick-figure comic follows a team’s communication tools from IRC in 2004 to Skype in 2010, Slack in 2017, and a distant future where consciousnesses have merged with a galactic singularity. One person still insists on connecting through an IRC client, despite reality having moved far beyond it. The joke pokes fun at stubborn attachment to outdated technology and the refusal to change a familiar setup.
