Rest in Peace, King
Wow... she is LITERALLY me! Wow... he is LITERALLY me! On the evening of August 11, 2018, while walking alongside railroad tracks in The Dalles, Oregon, Davis was struck and killed by a Union Pacific train. Investigators could not determine whether his death was suicide or accidental, although the train engineer believed his death to be a suicide. The police report stated that Davis was walking with his back toward the train and that he turned around before the moment of impact.[1] Rest in peace, King
The 47-second video begins with split-screen reaction images of people who supposedly identify literally with a woman and a muscular man, then cuts through increasingly chaotic dance and reaction clips. It ends with a surreal image of a laughing man, a fatal railroad incident text card about Davis, and the solemn caption “Rest in peace, King,” turning exaggerated online identification into a dark absurdist punchline. Fitz and The Tantrums’ upbeat indie-pop song “Out of My League” plays throughout, making the montage funnier through the contrast between cheerful music and the increasingly grim ending.
