By e-mail, postal mail and almost any method imaginable, thousands of you have said you are behind us and seriously concerned about the action taken by the Department of Justice and 20 State Attorneys General. Many of you have asked how you can help. Here are three options we can offer you. You can: State your opinion about the legal action against Microsoft. If you agree with our position, tell us. If you don't, we'd also like to hear from you. We can also keep you up to date on the anti-trust trial and key policy issues. Write an e-mail letter to your Congressional and state representatives about the issue. We won't know what you have to say; we're simply providing a service many of you requested. Read more about the lawsuit. We provide a page of up-to-date information on the lawsuit, and daily trial coverage. You also can read Bill Gates' Wall Street Journal column U.S. v. Microsoft: We're Defending Our Right to Innovate. Again, thank you for your interest in this very important issue. © 1998 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. Terms of Use. A screenshot of Microsoft’s 1998 website asking visitors to support the company during the U.S. antitrust lawsuit. The joke is that Microsoft presents its legal self-defense campaign as a noble fight for “the freedom to innovate,” mocking corporate propaganda and the irony of an antitrust defendant trying to appear benevolent and pro-innovation.
