Resident Historian Finds the Picture

Text on the meme

The friend group's resident historian and lore-keeper when asked for a specific picture from 5 years ago

What it means

A long-haired, elderly scholar sits in a dim candlelit chamber surrounded by towering stacks of books, papers, and a glass vessel. He searches through his archives with increasingly serious concentration, finally examining a sheet of paper. The joke compares a friend who remembers and stores every old group photo to Bilbo Baggins documenting Middle-earth lore; Sebastien Van Der Rohe’s dramatic orchestral song “The Lord of the Rings” makes the trivial search feel like an epic quest.
