Solar Power in the Desert

They can't even make solar power work in a desert. Let that sink in. New York Post $2.2 billion solar plant in California turned off after years of wasted money: ‘Never lived up to its promises’ trib.al/BzIxW0J

A sarcastic post shows a large solar power facility in a desert, with solar panels and workers in protective gear. The joke mocks the apparent absurdity of a solar plant failing in a sunny desert, while the headline reports that the expensive California facility was shut down after years of poor performance. It is used as a reaction to wasteful projects, technological failure, or ironic incompetence.
