Men's Mental Health Isn't Taken Seriously
Men's mental health still isn't taken seriously Whenever my (M37) partner (F38) is a little down, or upset or whatever, I'll give her a hug, ask her what I can do, make her a cup of tea, whatever. No prompting, just do. Told my partner how I feel particularly low today, to the point I don't want to wake up anymore. Her reply? "what am I meant to do with that information?" I was just speechless.
A text-based relationship meme contrasts a man’s attentive, proactive support for his partner’s sadness with her dismissive response when he reveals severe depression and suicidal thoughts. The punchline is the painfully ironic double standard: he knows exactly how to comfort her, while she treats his vulnerability as an inconvenience, leaving him speechless. It is shared as a darkly humorous reaction to emotional neglect and unequal support in relationships.
