Bungie Continues Greek Marathon Tradition

Bungie Continues Greek Tradition of Dying After Marathon

A video game screenshot shows a player character near a glowing purple device while a classical Greek runner statue dramatically lunges forward in the foreground. The joke compares the game character’s apparent death after a marathon-like activity to the legend of Pheidippides, who supposedly died after running from Marathon to Athens. It is shared as a humorous gaming reaction to exhaustion or dying after a long task.
