Software Engineers Become Farmers
Software engineers are highly-paid farmers, tending their crops by hand. We just invented the combine harvester. The world is going have a lot more food and a lot fewer farmers in very short order.
A screenshot of a tweet by Tom Blomfield compares software engineers to farmers tending crops by hand. The joke is that AI and automation are like inventing a combine harvester: they may dramatically increase output while reducing the number of people needed to do the work. It is shared as a reaction to fears that technology will replace software engineering jobs.
