Fired for Leetcode at Work
Got fired for doing leet code at work. Experienced Like the title says, I got let go for doing leetcode at work. I'm a mid level engineer. I had some downtime after finishing a sprint, and 4 hours left to kill (Seriously fuck return to office) I decided to pass the time I would do some leetcode problems since everyone else was busy to chit chat. I did a few and closed it, and eventually killed enough time to leave. The next day my manager tells me that they're letting me go because of the leetcode, they thought I was preparing for an interview with another company even though I'm not, and I was just bored as fuck. I'm not sure what to do, I'm not worried about finding another job but im worried this will effect my resume.
An engineer describes being fired after solving LeetCode problems during downtime at work. The manager assumes he is preparing for an interview elsewhere, turning ordinary boredom and productivity into suspicious-looking behavior. People share this as an absurd workplace story or a reaction to overbearing management and return-to-office culture.
