Frontend Library That Doesn’t Exist
Frontend library to fetch HTML from an API and swap it into the DOM? Question Hi I’m an aspiring web developer. I have an API that returns HTML rendered from a web server. Is there a library I can use in my client-side JavaScript to fetch that HTML and swap it into the DOM? Ideally something that uses HTML attributes or something. Writing a bunch of fetch(...).then(stuff => document.getElementById(“whatevs”).innerHTML = stuff) seems like a lot of work. There are none. They don’t exist. This isn’t possible.
A Reddit screenshot shows a web developer asking for a frontend library that fetches HTML from an API and inserts it into the DOM automatically. The reply bluntly says that no such library exists, humorously treating ordinary JavaScript DOM manipulation as impossible and mocking overengineering questions from inexperienced developers.
