A fake Snapchat post shows a guy who was rejected once browsing an intensely melancholic Simpsonswave playlist, with sad animated clips and dramatic video titles like “WHERE AM I GOING?”, “MEMORIES”, “FEELINGS”, and “MELANCHOLIC.” The joke exaggerates a minor romantic rejection into profound existential sadness, so it is used as a reaction to melodramatic overthinking and feeling sorry for oneself.
