Laptops 20 Years Ago
Laptops 20 years ago
A person opens and closes a thick, bulky early-2000s laptop over another modern laptop, revealing its cramped keyboard and tiny dark screen before shutting it again. The joke exaggerates how enormous and primitive laptops seemed 20 years ago, while Bo Burnham’s frantic, satirical electronic comedy song “Welcome to the Internet” makes the nostalgia feel absurd and chaotic. It works as a reaction to outdated technology, rapid technological change, or exaggerated nostalgia.
