What it means

A close-up video shows a tearful older man staring sadly and eventually squeezing his eyes shut, under the captions “Me: Asking my GTX 1080 Ti to stay alive for another year because GPU Prices are bad” and “The GTX 1080 Ti:”. The joke treats an aging graphics card like a suffering person who is being asked to keep working because new GPU prices are unaffordable. Øneheart & reidenshi’s melancholic ambient track “Snowfall” makes the GPU’s imagined death feel dramatically tragic and overemotional, making it useful as a reaction to failing hardware or expensive upgrades.
