Asking the Highly Intelligent Fan

Text on the meme

asking the highly intelligent fan if i should stop drinking

What it means

A standing fan slowly oscillates in a dim bedroom while someone asks it whether they should stop drinking. The fan’s movement looks like an intelligent yes-or-no response, making the joke a self-deprecating reaction to questionable drinking habits. Björk’s haunting, intimate song “Pagan Poetry” plays underneath, adding melodramatic seriousness and making the absurd exchange feel comically profound.
