Hero Never Comes to the Rescue

A news-style clip about a hantavirus-hit cruise ship cuts to icebergs, sinking ships, and collapsing ice formations, each labeled “Hero.” Bonnie Tyler’s dramatic song “Holding Out For a Hero” plays over the escalating disasters, making the joke that the supposed hero is either missing or is actually the doomed ship and ice. It works as an absurd reaction to situations where someone desperately needs help but everything keeps getting worse.
