Linux Users Protest Microsoft Refunds
On this day in 1999, Linux users gathered in Foster City, CA to protest Microsoft for their inability to issue refunds for unused Windows 98 licenses. Microsoft Welcomes the Linux Community
A crowd gathers beneath a Microsoft banner welcoming the Linux community. The joke falsely presents Linux users as protesting Microsoft for refunds on unused Windows 98 licenses, parodying an old “on this day” historical caption and the rivalry between Linux and Windows users.
