Non-Binary Aunt and Uncle Term
My sibling is non-binary, is there a non-binary term to replace aunt/uncle? Ask I'm expecting my first child and wanted to announce to my sibling by saying something along the lines of "Happy Birthday to the best ______ (insert non-binary term for aunt/uncle)! Does such a term exist? My family settled on “cuntle”, despite my protests. I don’t know what it is, but I know it’s not that.
A Reddit screenshot shows someone asking for a gender-neutral replacement for “aunt/uncle” to use in a birthday message for their non-binary sibling. The reply jokingly suggests the crude invented word “cuntle,” then immediately admits it is definitely not the right term. It is used as an absurd reaction to awkward attempts at inclusive language.
