My parents and I were watching the Hobbit but then they both fell asleep so I stopped the movie and started Return of the King about halfway through and when my dad woke up he just looked at me with this horrified expression and whispered what day is it?

What it means

A child watches The Hobbit with their parents, but after both parents fall asleep, switches to The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. When the father wakes up, he is horrified and asks, “what day is it?”, joking that the long fantasy movie marathon has blurred his sense of time.
