Tea Break Turns Into Chaos

Text on the meme

The tea is good, what did you put in it?

What it means

A woman in glasses calmly drinks tea at a table and asks what was added to it. The scene suddenly cuts to a bedroom, where an orange-and-black video-game-like character attacks her with a long pink weapon; she is knocked onto the bed as the screen darkens. The joke is the absurd escalation from a pleasant tea reaction to sudden cartoon violence, heightened by the dramatic gospel music. The audio features Tamela Mann’s “Take Me to the King,” whose solemn, emotional worship-ballad mood makes the ridiculous attack feel comically overdramatic.
