You Over the Penguin

Text on the meme

YOU OVER THE PENGUIN

What it means

A heavily made-up performer appears first, followed by a curly-haired child in a white jacket. The captions build the phrase “YOU OVER THE PENGUIN,” then the clip cuts to a lone penguin moving across a vast frozen landscape, turning the dramatic slowed organ music into an absurdly grand reaction to choosing the penguin. It works as a surreal video meme for declaring loyalty to the penguin or humorously ranking it above someone or something else.
