Poor Peoplecore Bus Ride

Text on the meme

i love taking the bus it’s so poorpeoplecore 🥺 and the little homeless people omg they’re so rugged 🙈 like omg go little rockstar!!! lowkey tho poor people live such free authentic lives like they’re just wearing thrifted clothing (but from like a poor people thrift store, not a vintage depop reseller) and they probably don’t have healthcare

What it means

A TikTok-style video filmed from a bus window is overlaid with text fetishizing poverty and homelessness as an “authentic” aesthetic. The joke is a sarcastic critique of wealthy or privileged people romanticizing poor people’s hardships, thrifted clothes, and lack of healthcare as if they were quirky lifestyle choices. It is used as an ironic reaction to class privilege, povertycore, and tone-deaf social media posts.
