Everyone Wants to Ship Software
DevOps, Platform Engineering, Architecture Shipping working software for actual users
A crowd lines up at a booth labeled “DevOps, Platform Engineering, Architecture,” while a lone person sits at a booth offering “Shipping working software for actual users.” The joke is that people in software engineering are more attracted to specialized infrastructure work than to the practical goal of delivering usable software.
