It’s the Owner, Not the Dog

It’s the owner not the dog! America's Most Dangerous Dog Breeds Percentage of dogs involved in fatal attacks on humans in the U.S. from 2005 to 2017. Pit bull 264 Rottweiler 45 German shepherd 20 American bulldog 15 Mixed breed 15 Mastiff/Bullmastiff 14 Labrador retriever 13 Husky 9 Doberman pinscher 6

A humorous Wojak-style drawing shows a stern-looking man presenting a chart about dangerous dog breeds while a pit bull sits in front of him. The speech bubble insists, “It’s the owner not the dog!” The joke blames irresponsible owners for aggressive dogs, despite the chart highlighting pit bulls in fatal attacks, and the meme is used to argue about dog behavior and ownership.
