Apple Legacy Contacts After Death

Text on the meme

Apple ID. Account Recovery Contacts makes resetting your password and maintaining access to your account easier than ever. And a new Digital Legacy program lets you designate people as Legacy Contacts so they can access your account in the event of your death.* * Coming later this year.

What it means

An Apple ID announcement explains that users can designate Legacy Contacts to access their account after they die. The darkly humorous punchline is that Apple presents posthumous account access as a convenient new feature, making this suitable as a reaction to morbidly practical or unsettling news.
