I have committed an atrocity

What it means

A tabletop battlefield covered with grim, spiky miniature war machines and buildings has been placed on a brightly colored children’s road playmat. The contrast between the cheerful toy-town setting and the brutal-looking miniatures creates the joke: the player jokingly describes this absurd mismatch as an “atrocity.”
