Lots of Racists on Social Media

Text on the meme

mom : “be careful, there are lots of racists on social media”

What it means

A young woman in a black hoodie stares at the camera with a serious, unimpressed expression while sunlight and shadows slowly move across her face in a bedroom. The caption quotes a mother warning about racists online, while the dramatic choral music, Yoshihisa Hirano’s “Kyrie Ⅱ,” makes her ordinary reaction feel ominous and absurd. It works as a reaction meme for treating an obvious online problem like a grand supernatural threat.
