Peter Responds Too Harshly
This was too far, even for Peter. Jerome clearly meant no harm when he was spending time with Lois, and he even complimented Peter’s looks. How did Peter respond? By being hateful. I’m usually a fan of Peter’s antics, but not this time.
Peter Griffin sits on the couch with Lois while Jerome stands nearby dressed as a ghost and holding a torch. The joke is that Peter reacts spitefully to Jerome spending time with Lois despite Jerome apparently meaning no harm and complimenting Peter, making Peter’s behavior unusually hateful even by his standards. This is used as a reaction to condemn an excessive or unfair response. EN: Peter Griffin sits on the couch with Lois while Jerome stands nearby dressed as a ghost and holding a torch.
