Evolution Develops Storytelling
Evolution can you give me narrativizing brain To group similar events so you can reuse useful strategies? Yeeeess. Actually develops storytime satisfying arcs larger than life characters social cohesion
A four-panel thinking-monkey meme shows evolution being asked for a brain that groups similar events into reusable strategies. Instead, evolution produces storytelling, complete with satisfying arcs, larger-than-life characters, and social cohesion. The joke is that narrative imagination is an exaggerated and unexpectedly elaborate result of an evolutionary advantage.
