Whatever Happened to Manticore

Text on the meme

cottagecore this, balletcore that, whatever happened to manticore?? Martichora

What it means

A collage of several bizarre, leonine manticore illustrations, including medieval and fantasy artwork, is presented beneath a caption lamenting the popularity of aesthetic trends. The joke treats the manticore as an overlooked alternative “core” aesthetic and contrasts ordinary internet fashion trends with a monstrous mythological creature.
