Wake Me Up When September Ends

summer has passed the innocent man wake me up when september ends

A sleepy bald man lies on the floor while a yellow alarm-clock character sits beside him, with blue “Z” symbols showing that he is asleep. The words build into “summer has passed the innocent man, wake me up when september ends,” parodying Green Day’s “Wake Me Up When September Ends” and joking about sleeping through the entire summer. Green Day’s melancholy alternative rock song makes the absurd scene feel dramatically over-serious, turning seasonal laziness into a mock-tragic reaction meme.
