America? Haven't Heard That Name
America? huh i havent heard that name in years...
A bald eagle lies among piles of trash as the camera moves in for an awkward close-up, then a hand touches it and it shifts away. The caption jokingly treats America as a forgotten name, while Pixies’ dreamy, melancholic alternative-rock song “Where Is My Mind?” adds an absurdly dramatic, dissociated mood to the eagle’s grimy surroundings and apparent rejection. It works as a reaction to seeing a ruined or unrecognizable version of something supposedly patriotic.
