Aurangzeb Never Said Thank You

DID YOU KNOW? The sixth Mughal emperor, Aurangzeb Alamgir, who died aged 88 in 1707 never said ‘thank you’ in his entire life (not even once!). This is because he did not speak English.

This meme shows a portrait of Aurangzeb Alamgir with a mock trivia caption claiming that he never said “thank you” because he did not speak English. The joke is an anachronistic wordplay gag: Aurangzeb lived before modern English usage became relevant, so the fact is technically unsurprising and absurdly presented as trivia.
