Special Water Bottles Dad

>be me >7ish years old >late 90s, early 00s >hanging with recently divorced dad >go to convenient store >getting goodies >dad orders "special water bottles" >six pack of clear liquid glass bottles >cashier puts them in brown paper bag for him >he hides them under his car seat >he occasionally takes one out while driving to take a drink before putting it back >i think nothing of it >he does this for a few years. >now I'm 18 >i realizes my dad is an alcoholic >has always been, he Just hid it from me. >mom and sister allowed that so I can grow up loving my dad. >think back to his "special water" >was he drinking and driving with me in the car? >think no because the drinks where clear and his only choice of alcohol was beer. >no vodka, wine, whisky or anything else. >forget about it. probably to hide from the truth >present day >listening to video about discontinued foods >they bring up Zima >clear beer >corememory.jpeg >tell my friend >"so. how does it feel to find out your dad was gay?" lol.

A greentext narrator recalls childhood trips with his recently divorced father, who bought clear bottled drinks, hid them in the car, and drank while driving. Years later, the narrator realizes the “special water” was probably Zima, a clear beer, and jokingly tells his friend that his father was gay because of the old stereotype linking Zima to gay men. The meme is sent as an absurd, delayed-realization story with a darkly comic punchline.
