Game Journalists Playing Doom for Money

Text on the meme

“Game Journalists” when they are “forced” to play the new DOOM game for money: You have died. Would you like to use a Life Soul? CRITICAL HEALTH

What it means

A streamer plays a dark, chaotic DOOM sequence while looking increasingly strained and unimpressed. The joke mocks game journalists who supposedly praise or endure a new DOOM game only because they are paid to cover it, with the dramatic Chopin piano making the gameplay feel absurdly tragic. The clip uses Raqibul Hasan RaNa’s “Chopin Nocturne Piano,” whose melancholic classical mood heightens the contrast with frantic combat, repeated danger, and the player’s deadpan reaction.
