Dalton Phillips @DaltonPOfficial 日常 nichijou my ordinary life "Ordinary life is even more horrible than war." — Yukio Mishima, Sun and Steel

What it means

A parody screenshot attributes a grim quote about ordinary life being worse than war to Yukio Mishima, then points to the anime Nichijou, whose title means “ordinary life,” and to a cheerful schoolgirl avatar. The joke contrasts Mishima’s dramatic militaristic worldview with the absurd everyday comedy of the anime.
