Captured Indian Fighter Pilot

Text on the meme

Reports out of Pakistan claim that they have captured Indian fighter pilot Samabashiv Hidam. The picture below was provided by his family in Mumbai.

What it means

A bespectacled bearded man in a brightly patterned shirt is shown beneath a fabricated news-style caption claiming he is a captured Indian fighter pilot. The joke comes from the absurd mismatch between the serious military report and the ordinary-looking man, making it useful as a reaction to obvious misinformation or an implausible claim.
