USSR and the Eastern Bloc

Text on the meme

USSR Fine! Behold how happy we look as a couple in this photo! Eastern Bloc Countries USSR

What it means

An anime girl labeled “USSR” proudly shows a photo of herself with a young man, presented as a happy couple. The photo is labeled “Eastern Bloc Countries,” turning the Soviet Union and its satellite states into an awkward relationship joke. It is used as an ironic reaction to portray the USSR’s connection with Eastern European communist countries as a forced or dysfunctional partnership.
