My 20s So Far

Text on the meme

"Your 20s are going to be the best years of your life" My 20s so far

What it means

A woman smiles under the promise that her twenties will be the best years of her life, then the video cuts through increasingly chaotic scenes: biological cells, missile-like formations, a tornado, surreal anime imagery, SpongeBob and Squidward dancing, and a glowing networked Earth. The joke is a bleakly exaggerated contrast between optimistic advice and the creator’s disastrous or overwhelming experience of their twenties, amplified by The Smashing Pumpkins’ melancholy alternative rock song “Today.”
