Industrial Society and Its Future
INDUSTRIAL SOCIETY AND ITS FUTURE ECODEFENSE: A Field Guide to Monkeywrenching
A masked black-clad figure wears an oversized green hat decorated with a flower and is surrounded by a power tool, beer bottle, bolt cutters, and books titled “Industrial Society and Its Future” and “Ecodefense: A Field Guide to Monkeywrenching.” The joke presents an exaggerated anti-industrial, eco-saboteur aesthetic, combining radical environmental literature with improvised tools and a rustic disguise. It is used as an absurd reaction to environmental extremism, anti-technology sentiment, or anarcho-primitivist ideas.
