A young man in a white shirt gives the middle finger beneath a caption saying that his school was emailed because he was “homophobic” on TikTok, but the Catholic school agreed with him. The joke is a sarcastic reaction to institutional hypocrisy or unexpected agreement, used when someone’s supposedly offensive opinion is supported by an authority that one might expect to condemn it.
