Cute Date Idea: Fixing a Cheap Car

Text on the meme

cute date idea: buy a cheap car off marketplace and spend weeks fixing it together

What it means

A woman and a man spend time repairing a cheap car bought from an online marketplace, working together under its open hood with tools scattered around them. The joke presents a long, difficult car restoration project as a romantic “cute date,” making the exhausting mechanical work feel sentimental and relatable. Beach House’s dreamy, melancholic song “Space Song” heightens the contrast and makes the situation feel comically dramatic.
